At home baby pouches
Raise your hand if you said “i’m going to be buy all the veggies and fruits in the store and make them for my baby” Yes that was me too, but when baby came, sleep was not enough and 24hrs in a day was not the same already made baby food was my friend. I love the different flavor varieties and brands that are offered. I buy organic baby food for my children: beech nut organics, earth’s best and happy baby are my go-tos. My first child enjoyed baby food and he really enjoyed me spoon feeding him. As he got older I spent a couple hundred dollars on the fruit and veggie pouches. With sister (my second baby) she did not enjoy me spoon-feeding her the baby food. I bought a few pouches for her, but then I said to myself “I’m glad she’s eating from the pouches, but they are expensive”. Again, I thought to myself “I can make my own pouches”. The I did an Amazon search.
What You’ll Need:
1. Baby food, of course
2. Reusable pouches– Here are the pouches I ordered from Amazon.
3. Baby Cereal. I use the beechnut brand
4. Milk – ripple milk is my go-to, but it’s your choice
5. A mixing bowl or cup.
6. Add Chia seeds, seamoss, cinnamon, yogurt or any other toppings of your choice
How To Do It:
1. Clean the pouches with hot soapy water
2. Place two medium spoons of baby food in the mixing cup
3. Add 1/4 cup on baby cereal
4. ¼ cup of milk of your choice
5. A dash or two of water
6. For additional nutrients I add seamoss
6. Use a spoon to mix everything together.
7. Pour ingredients into the pouch.
Keep the pouch top on while you pour. If the mixture does not pour smoothly into the pouch, then it is too thick; add water.
8. Store pouches in the fridge.
- You can also just add the baby food and cereal in the pouch. It’s up to you mom !
- If you want to warm up the pouch. Place it in a hot bowl of water. Please do not microwave
And Wallah there you have it, convenience on a budget !
